$4,000,000 Barn Find - Rare Ferrari AND 427 Cobra Hidden for Decades | Barn Find Hunter - Ep.24

Searching in the heart of North Carolina’s NASCAR country, automotive author and Barn Find Hunter Tom Cotter ventures into a garage full of cars and is hit with a lightning bolt. Parked before him is a silver 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/2, covered in decades of dust and spider webs. The Italian Sleeping Beauty has only 13,000 miles on the clock and, Tom soon realizes, is one of only a handful that were built with an alloy body. It just can’t get any better than this, Tom reasons, and then-miraculously-along comes a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427.

    • I have the argument that a modified gt500 isn't more valuable than a real super snake. Same with the cobras what's more valuable a kit or real cobra. That is a no brainer.

  • I'm a car buff, lic. body mechanic, and if i had $4,000,000, i wouldn't invest it in rat eaten rust cars that will eat up a bundle trying to restore to prestene condition. Sorry, buyers are getting scarce for these cars. Love the video, and i drool over the find but the price tags are for restored.

  • I thought the attraction of a barn find was to be able to buy the find before the owner's granddaughter learned the true value. Seeing a dusty mice home worth several million just doesn't do it for me.

  • Average weight of noteable car engines of 1960's was nearly 600 lbs. Pretty sure the biggest Shelby engine weighed more than 500 lbs.

  • "Who would imagine that such an older wealthy neighborhood would yield such nice cars?" Where else would you find them? A poor, newer neighborhood, a wealthy new neighborhood or poor older neighborhood? I think that varnish in your panel wagon has gotten into your bloodstream.

  • Why does Hagerty keep saying they find cars when people are just calling to be on the show? Hagerty didn't "find" these cars.

  • In the summer of 1970, I was at my girlfriend's apartment when I heard a car start outside. I said to myself, "I'm pretty sure I know what that is!" I went outside and, sure enough, I was correct. It was a 1962 Corvette Fuel Injection model...and it was for sale. Roman Red with a matching interior. Car was dead stock and in great condition except for some odd wheel covers. I mentioned the wheel covers to the owner and he said, "Oh, I've got the original hub caps in the trunk." He popped the trunk and there they were. Trunk was a bit cluttered but in great shape. He had purchased the car from the original owner. I asked him why he was selling it and he said he was tired of it, was getting married and needed the money. The price (and I'll never forget this) was $999.00. I passed on this because I didn't have the money. There is hardly a week go by that I don't regret my decision from that summer day so long ago.

    • He didn't say that. You're twisting his words. _You_ could be a lawyer with that skill. In fact he didn't even say Drs. and lawyers, _were_ people of substance. He said, "But this is one fine neighbourhood. Drs. and lawyers AND people of substance live in this neighbourhood."

  • I found and bought an old motion performance corvette in a barn for 4500. Never had it certified because some people just french the lights with pinto headlights but a few decades later certified motion vettes were getting 350k. Never know.

  • of all the cars shown in this vid, I like the Woody best. It's useful, whereas these others aren't really, even when right they have little room and more zoom than a guy can possibly use on the street, then there's the fact you wouldn't take the Cobra out on the street, it's just to valuable to risk some texting teen plowing into it. Of the ones in the barn one of the ones that didn't get mention would be a better daily driver car. The Ferrari would even be a better daily driver, so far as I'm concerned, because it's a crap car in my book, one I wouldn't care if it got dinged up. Besides a roof is a handy thing to have.

  • Yeah the Ferrari and the Cobra are cool, but don’t forget that e30! It looks like a facelift model that came in 1986, which means that car technically only is max five years old

These mice travelled everywhere from France to Irealnd , to England and Scotland. I can image the conversation they had ' Hey mum where are we going today ?' 'Schussh.'
