$4,000,000 Barn Find - Rare Ferrari AND 427 Cobra Hidden for Decades | Barn Find Hunter - Ep.24

Searching in the heart of North Carolina’s NASCAR country, automotive author and Barn Find Hunter Tom Cotter ventures into a garage full of cars and is hit with a lightning bolt. Parked before him is a silver 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/2, covered in decades of dust and spider webs. The Italian Sleeping Beauty has only 13,000 miles on the clock and, Tom soon realizes, is one of only a handful that were built with an alloy body. It just can’t get any better than this, Tom reasons, and then-miraculously-along comes a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427.

    • @Jeff Lee I hear you man .. like there are more SS Chevelle's rather than plain Mailbu's running around now than were ever built haha , as much as a niche market vintage Ferrari and original csx Cobra's are a part of ... you'd think someone would know of the history of these cars and would come forward and object ... unless they are in on it . Not saying I'm buying into a conspiracy but yeah money corrupts so "barn find" does lose credibility at some point . And people and businesses go to a lot more extreme and deceptive and illegal measures than this scenario for big money .

    • @Morfeo Phantasm well now that is a valid point. the cars werent always valuable. but if you type "barn find car" into the youtube search bar there will be millions of vids out there. and the numbers just dont add up. there are not hundreds of thousands of 70 year old barns in america in total. also, if you watch these vids closely you will notice that the cars have dust on them but all the stuff piled up on top of them doesnt have dust on it. there is a lot of money to be made when you say "found in barn, one owner only, hasnt started in 30 years". yes there are cars in barns. but to save my life i cant find all these 70 year old barns. how are all these cars in barns that dont exist? rare cars in rare barns doesnt seem to add up to millions of videos claiming barn finds

    • @Jeff Lee yeah but you have to remember they haven't always been worth so much either . It's entirely possible as a result of the circumstances explained that this was real ... market values can take a significant spike, it doesn't automatically mean these cars are going to surface quickly necessarily . For me personally if it's a hoax I don't care , that just means they aren't living their life right and that'll come back on them , nobody's taking 1 cent with them in the end right lol there are plenty of folks that having several million dollars of cars is actually insignificant with regard to their total wealth . I just wish I was one of them ; ) lol having said that there are plenty of people with $$$$$ and cars us passionate enthusiasts would love to have and cherish that are unhappy .

    • @Morfeo Phantasm im not dissing the cars. but again, you go throw $5,000,000.00 in a barn and see how long it sits there. yes im absolutely sure there are a few cars in barns that no one knows about. but in the ;lassed couple months there have been thousands of barn finds. i find it difficult to believe there are thousands of barns with $5,000,000.00 dollars laying inside them. think about it for a moment

  • I bought a new Honda Civic that sheltered in my barn. When I had to change the battery I discovered a family of mice living behind the battery box. These mice travelled everywhere from France to Irealnd , to England and Scotland. I can image the conversation they had ' Hey mum where are we going today ?' 'Schussh.'

  • I test drove a silver 275 Ferrari, almost identical to this one in 1968 at a Caddy dealer and didn't buy it. They were asking 6500 bucks and had under 20K miles on it. It had plastic seats, no AC and was really loud and my GF hated it. I had an E Type at the time and it was just more luxurious for the same money.

  • As an analogy the Cobra is like today's S2000. The 427 motor is like the AP1 with the F20C = 184Kw The 428 motor although larger is like the AP2 with the F22C1 = 177Kw Just like the Cobra, I am sure the S2000 will be a collectible with dilemas on which factory engine you have and which is more sought after.
