  • That wrangler is stupid af. If you had that jeep with lower and smaller wheels then it would be WAY better. Plus, new jeeps look like toys on the inside.

  • The suzuki samurai is quality vehicles and very strong. We own two of them and are looking for more because the samurai beat all the new offroads and the back is easy to get off in less than a minute and spending money on the samurai is the best thing you can ever do!

  • Growing up in India, we have used 2 variants of this Samurai. They call it the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy in India. The earlier models were the MG410 - that had a 1.0L inline 4. The newer ones viz. MG413 had the 1.3 L inline 4. Back there, we do not have the privilege of ORV parks, real life situations demand good traction. Used these in pretty bad mud and rocky terrains in the foothills of the terai as well as up mountains. These vehicles are fun, however we also used the JONGA (which is a Nissan Patrol) which has lot better weight carrying capacities . The Gypsies, we have had broken axles, carrying heavy duty equipment across marshes and rough terrain. Back when my dad was in his 30s and he used to take us on his version of wildlife safari at night, with floodlights mounted on the Gypsy/Patrol's top - he let me drive these vehicles across our farms, pretty big tractor ruts in them. Very good these vehicles

  • Wow! for Americans there is nothing fancy about 3.5L v6! while the rest of the world drives flat 4s and barely 2.2-3L engines!! you burn some serious gas man! when the heck will this world switch to electric?

  • I always suspected that samurai would somehow do it, because it does some ridiculous things everyday in the Himalayas, even though its highly abused. Small and light and pesky, quite uncomfortable and i really don't like it, but it gets there.

  • A friend of mine back in the late 80's had a lifted Toyota pickup with 35's and I had a Samurai with Trail Master 4" lift and 275/75 15's, 2 barrel Weber DGV 32/36 carb & a Thorley header and I could walk circles around him. Even had to pull him out with my bumper mounted winch a couple times. One time he buried his Yota so bad (almost to the roof in red clay/mud) it took 3 wreckers to winch him out after waiting for a week to wait for the ground to dry enough so they could get to his truck.

  • Many moons ago (late-80s) I had a friend working at a logging camp in the Interior of BC, Canada. The standard vehicle was a 4WD Ford F150/250 truck, but to get access to those really impenetrable places where the Fords feared to tread, the goto alternative was a bone-stock Suzuki Samurai. Enough with the Jeep shilling - I'm off to check Craigslist for a Samurai.

Since you are in USA, the cost to make it will be even more cheap and then you can put 33" tires as well as differential locker! Pleeeease make this project car!

  • Now imagine if you had a sami with 31s-33s, gearing, lockers, front+rear bumpers, sliders and some power upgrades. My buddy has one that is all built like that and it goes friggen everywhere. I have a Cherokee locked on 35s with a 6" long arm lift and he can make it through probably 85% of the stuff I can make it through, but he spent a lot less money.

  • The samurai does have manual lockers in front, he locked them after the second attempt , the doors and front shield do come off with four screws each. Not as simple but it is 30+ yrs old, all the same pretty crap on the jeep can be bought for the samurai. A lil air down and the samurai would have made it up the climb easier & be a smoother ride. He also drove faster than needed to make the Sami look rough it can be creeped in low without the foot near the clutch hardly ever , not stall and be much smoother ride. It won't get stuck! Theres also a reason why most jeeps carry 10 extra gallons. They chug gas ⛽️, Samis run on fumes it's even hard to remember to fill them cuz it goes so long. Shame they just made fun of it most of the time & just tried selling the jeep to all the pretty boys out there.

  • In the beginning they talked about the "last time" they were there... and the Jeep "strugled". I didn't see a Jeep struggle, I saw a Jeep make the hill. I also saw niether vehicle air down their tires (better contact patch and also very important, doesn't destroy the terrain) and also neither took a proper approach for line and angle. Things that make you go hmmmm
