  • Lexan. Custom interior panels. About all you can do and still maintain a touring car look without spending either a lot of money or a lot of time on carbon. Stock E46 with tires should be able to do 1:55; You aren't anywhere near that cars limit. Similar E46's spec'd out like yours run 1:51's all day.

  • cant help but notice that Vin has the Stud Conversion, all I see via internet the conversion is bolted or screwed on the rotors, when he grind/removed his rear dust guard cant help but notice no rotors yet it the studs is installed, can you help me with this one e46 owner also :)

  • If not carbon hood, chop the cross support out from the oem hood and just have the perimeter support intact. If you have crash bars on your cage, take the door side impact protection out. Lose all the airbags, pretentioners etc.etc.

  • Ditch everything in the trunk , plastics, carpet , anything under the hood like covers for boxes and fire blanket on the hood . The insulation under the carpets and in the doors , then put carpet back in . Maybe lighter seats.

  • It is a beautiful car and I kind of feel bad for cracking on him to strip it. but that's just what I would do strip it put in a cage and set it up with poly bushings in the under carriage. I never cared about the inside as long as the outside people see is good that's all that matters and that it go's like stink on shit at the track. the best cheapest fastest way to loose weight and get handling is to strip it

  • M3's are already quick as hell stock. but I guess you do get used to the power you have and want more. unless you're willing to spend 8 to 10 grand on all carbon hood, trunk, roof, door panels, and fenders then I suggest more power. since you're not willing to gut it and remove all the creature comforts which would get you down in the 2900 pound club

  • Move the coolant reservoir back closer to the firewall in that empty well. I see you already have the SAP delete, that's good. The coolant res relocation is hella easy too. Dont know if stoptechs are light but 135i OEM front caliper conversion w/ CSL rotors and Porsche 996 rear calipers w/ CSL rotors are pretty good. In the trunk, cut out the air compressor well and flat out the gap with an aluminum slate. I think 17x10 APEX ARC-8 wheels are lighter than the Volk TE37's too. Carbon CSL trunk, GTR hood, side mirrors, roof and door cards. Titanium exhaust. Euro headers. CSL carbon center console. Voila.

  • unless you somehow rolled the car onto the corner weights, “lifting” the car will not give you the most accurate reading. It’s important for the car to settle (simply rock the back back and forth and maybe some vertical pulses) to settle as much as possible. Also simply having rubber bushings will make an accurate reading even more difficult. Btw, what kind of laser toe gauge is that? after using strings for years i’m sortve sick of doing a proper set up the dinosaur method....
