Can DRY AGE save a $1 Steak? | Guga Foods

You asked for an affordable Dry Age experiment and today I deliver your request. Normally you dry age an expensive cut of meat as it takes time and patience to do. But after so many requests made I decided to make this video to see what would happen if I dry age a $1 dollar steak.

  • That HUGE slab of meat cost a dollar being from the UK that would cost around £7-10 aprox on the size (and decent marbling!) with cheap cuts of meat i cook it in the pressure/slow cooker and it becomes so tender making BANG curries or stews....that would not last 45m in my refrigerator let alone 45 days.....hell na!!!! 😋😋✌🏼️

  • I would like to see you try salt-curing this. Not the way you salted in a previous video. To properly salt cure, heavily salt both sides, and leave the steak at room temperature for 2-3 hours. The steak should be sweating at the end of the 2-3 hours, but not so much that it's losing all its juices. This will break down the protein bonds in the meat. The steak will caramelise, and should barely need to be chewed, and just melt in your mouth. Don't re salt it when cooking.

  • Most dry aged food sucks except fruits. Meat needs juice. If it doesn't have juice , your either poor and cant afford good steak or your rich and popous enough to think its a delicacy just because someone charges you more for it...lol

  • Steak on a grill is weird to me... But why not, but I certainly wouldn't have tried that kind of cooking for the dried one... Sometimes I marinate lamb meet in pureed kiwi very good and I guess it could work for cheap beef as well.... But once I did it far too long and the meat itself was almost pureed

    Claire LClaire LGün önce

  • With Eye Round Cut you have to poke holes in to it with a skewer or a long spike fork, because it’s so tuff the pineapple go go into the meat and make it more tender, or if marinating the meat to have a nice season cut
