  • Caleb's conversation with the female prisoner. What it would have sounded like to the rest of the group. Starting from 3:03:15 Translation is taken a bit liberal in places, where a direct translation would make for akward, bad or nonsense german(Zemnian) Caleb:"Bist du wach?"... "Wach auf! Du bist an einem schlechten Ort, du musst mit mir reden." Woman: *coughs* Caleb:" Nur zu. Dein Leben hängt an einem seidenen Faden (German Proverb), wenn du nicht willst, das er durchtrennt wird, musst du mit mir reden." Woman:"Es ist was es ist. Das ist was im Krieg passiert." Caleb:"Kannst du mich ansehen?" Woman:"Wer fragt? Was willst du?" Caleb:"Du hörst mich in dieser Sprache, an diesem Ort, zu dir sprechen. Willst du Hilfe oder nicht? Sieh mich an." Woman:"Magie vermag vieles. Mein Leben ist bereits verwirkt. Versuch was immer du willst, du wirst mich nicht brechen." Caleb:"Astrid." Woman:"Was hast du gesagt?" Caleb:"Du hast mich gehört. Sieh mir in die Augen!" Woman:"Wer bist du?" Caleb:"Ich habe keine Zeit dafür. Hebe dein Haupt. Dein Leben hängt am seidenen Faden, was hast du zu verlieren? Sieh mich an." Woman:"Sieh wo ich bin. Wem kann ich vertrauen? Wer ist es, der Astrid kennt?" *Frumpkin get's send into the room (3:07:30) Caleb:"Kennst du Bren Aldric Ermendrud?" Woman:"Sehr gut." Caleb:"Wer war er?" Woman:"Ich weiß es nicht. Bist du er?" *Looking up at Caleb* Woman:"Ich habe Sachen über dich gehört Bren. Willkommen zurück." Caleb:"Ich bin an deinem Wissen über diesen Jungen interessiert. Wir werden sehen ob du lang genug lebst, um es mir mitzuteilen." *Caleb gathers himself* (3:12:20) Caleb:"So wie ich es sehe ist deine Zeit begrenzt. Sehr begrenzt. Kannst du irgendetwas zu dieser Unterhaltung beitragen." Woman:"Nicht wirklich. Ich warte nur auf mein Urteil... Was ich sagen kann ist. Es ist faszinierend zu sehen, wer jetzt für die andere Seite arbeitet." Caleb:"Einige von uns sind die makabren Märchen müde. Also genieße deine mundvoll Lügen, wenn Sie es aus dir heraus pressen" *Dramatic exit by Caleb.*

  • Out of over 200 episodes and nearly 1000 of Critical Role, this is by far the best ad bit. Sam Reigal deserves another Emmy.

  • this group, M9 -- has a terrible habit of distrusting everyone/everything and assuming the worst without ever using rational thinking; these actions betray how they act like they are trying to help save lives when they can't even agree on what is worth saving...as in everyone is evil/un-trusting in their eyes. They manifest in their heads all these conspiracys instead of giving thought about others actions/reactions to M9 radical tales and grandiose ideologies.

  • I wonder what Matt would have done if the party wisened up and had laid a trap for Hoban instead, like after the long rest in the bridge room if they stuffed their ears and hid and waited for him, then locked him in with them only to combat him and have him be at the mercy of the voices and maybe the roper

  • Was anyone else just unable to focus on the story because they floated Caleb’s videocall at the wrong end of Fjord and Beau? It was really disorienting. You don’t realize how conditioned you get after roughly 280 hours of this campaign so far... Now that I realize I’ve spent almost 300 hours watching these guys play D&D is even more disorienting...

  • Jester's talk with the Traveler was so moving... yet it also made it really sink in for me how, if she's talking to the Traveler about how scared/worried/sad/lost she feels, the kind of means she's not talking to anyone in the party about that. The Traveler's advice to her *in this episode* was pretty sound, so I'm not knocking that. Just wondering what the M9 might look like, if some other party members didn't dismiss or underestimate Jester so much, and if she felt she could confide in them more. She does let Nott and Beau in to some extent, but still... Also several very touching moments related to Yasha, like Caduceus switching out his earring (for a Stormlord symbol), and Jester having her moment by the wildflowers mural she'd painted for Yasha, and several expressions of hope that the Stormlord might help her break the mind control. On a different note, it was interesting to see the party shift from "We must run away; the Bright Queen will be pissed and throw us in prison (and oh-well to Yeza and Dairon, I guess)" to "We'll talk to her... in person... in her throne room. And actually, nothing bad happens." I also note how the BQ had researchers searching for the Laughing Hand's weakness, and seems like the M9 never ultimately got to benefit from that.
