SootheBB1d Final update on my missing co-worker This is the the third and final post I will make regarding this thread. As I had mentioned in my last update thread I had quit working at the place that the incident had occurred at and didn’t have any update on the situation of what, if anything, had come of my coworker who went missing and sent the pics. I can now report that I do now know what happened. Last night I reconnected with one of my other coworkers from that lab to ask them if I could use them as a reference for a job I was applying for. I took the opportunity to ask them if they had any news on the missing co-worker. They did. He was found a while ago actually and the circumstances surrounding his discovery are quite interesting.... but I will not be sharing them with you. Why? I originally came to this subreddit with an honest question of whether you guys could help me identify the location of the places in the pictures. I did get some genuine help and those people are cool and I appreciate it. But after the story went viral and I made an update just to let people know where the story stood at that time from my perspective I was met with some of the most ridiculous accusations I have ever encountered in my time online. People calling me a LARPER, saying I made it up for attention, that it was some silly ARG. There was some idiot that said I was from Australia and that took off so I got people spamming my inbox with messages calling me a liar and a phony. I understand and respect skepticism but what I endured in this sub was beyond that, it was a full on witchhunt. I even received death threats over this stupid fucking shit. Do you people have any idea how toxic this community is? I’m sorry I couldn’t provide some sort of official notarized document staring what I was saying was factual, but it was. But in the end it’s you guy’s that miss out on a really interesting conclusion post that I wish I could share, but after the abuse and accusations I’ve endured I would be a pushover to actually post it here. If you guys didn’t believe me, that’s fine, but was it really necessary to go ahead and form your own stupid false ass narrative of who I was and what my intentions were? In the end the only phonies were you. Screw RBI. Kinda lame after all

That is Scary about the DCS case. Thank God the OP got advice and consulted a lawyer. I worked for Children Services in Ohio in the 80s and early 90s. We only got involved with newborns if they tested positive for illegal substances. But that was AFTER they were born.
My heart just stops every time the screen goes black and I scream internally "Don't say there was no follow up" only to be presented with "Unfortunately theres was no follow up from OP", Its sad to see so much build up of these stories only to be left with massive cliffhangers.

My way of telling if a Reddit post is legitimate or not is to look at it like I’m the poster. If my friend or coworker went missing in that way I would file a police report regardless of what my boss said. It smells fishy, looks fishy, so (imo) it is fishy. If the OP keeps posting updates, or posts a resolution then it is probably legitimate. That’s just my opinion on it, and it may be flawed but it’s the best way to look at it with limited information.

the fake DCS case sounds like a case that apparently happened in Northern Ontario. the person was caught red handed trying to take the baby and apparently the police got involved because some of the people wanted to beat the creep to death. at least that's the story. happened long before I lived there but I heard the story 100 times

That lady oughtta go to marriage counseling regardless because if you have such distrust in your partner that you believe they are spying on you for nefarious reasons, there is a serious problem in that relationship.
