  • So people were still dying, in the age of photography, of wars about religion or religious items. Or as a rationale. What "great" way to do, to preserve religious icons.

  • Tsar Nicholas i of Russia (1825-1855) felt really betrayed by the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph i (1848-1916). It was Nicholas i who provided over 200,000 Russian Empire troops to the Austrian Empire who suppressed the Hungarian Revolution of 1848.

  • Western countries are hypocritical bastards. with double standards and betrayals. Those who do not know how to keep promises and plotting behind their backs. England was primarily famous for this. Homeland of gentlemen, never played by the rules. deceitful rulers. The West has always hated Russia. It all started in the Middle Ages. When my country was insulted and humiliated simply because we are different. This is European chauvinism

    • @Dmitri Kulkavičius The Russian kingdom, or the Russian kingdom, Russia (official name since 1654), also the Moscow kingdom - the name of the Russian state between 1547 and 1721. The Russian kingdom or in the Byzantine style The Russian kingdom was proclaimed on January 16, 1547 after Grand Duke Ivan IV Vasilyevich accepted the title of tsar, the name "Russian kingdom" became the official name of Russia until 1721. In the middle of the 16th century, the Kazan and Astrakhan khanates were annexed, which additionally substantiated the royal title of the Russian monarch. In 1547 the sovereign of all Russia and the great prince of Moscow Ivan IV the Terrible was crowned tsar and took the full title: Vyattsky, Bulgarian and others ", subsequently, with the expansion of the borders of the Russian state, the title was added" Tsar of Kazan, Tsar of Astrakhan, Tsar of Siberia "," and the ruler of all Northern countries " learn history

  • Thanks for this I didn't know what tha battle at Alma was before. It is interesting that you can tell where our town was expanding in those days from the pub names, The Alma and the Sevastopol. They had a coal mine nearby, because in the same short stretch of road there is also The Colliers and The Black Boy pubs. Those people must have been very thirsty and/or a large number!

  • You forgot to mention the role of the Piedmontese in this war, a role that, although small in numbers, in fact was decisive, given that at the end of the conflict they sat at the negotiating table.

  • Oil prices have fallen to the lowest since 1991 level . With cost of “black gold” at 15-23 dollars per barrel, the USSR economy collapsed, and the sovok itself collapsed, and the "golden" horde ("russia") budget can only be fulfilled only with oil price at $ 42.4 and higher.

  • As usual Christians couldn't unite against the Ottomans and instead fought against each other...

    Vignesh SajithVignesh Sajith7 aylar önce
    • I mean a perfect crusade at that time could mean a complete change from what we see today.. Middle East and the Holy Land would've been under Christian control but instead it stayed under Ottoman control until World War 2 because Crusaders were interested in fighting against Orthodox Christians instead.. PS:- Armenian And Greek genocide could've been avoided and Ottomans wouldn't even have been a strong part of the Central Powers that we saw in World War 1.

  • The birthplace of Orthodox Christianity is Jerusalem, you moron. Your sources are way worse than Wikipedia. Have you read Figes, Lambert, Tarle, Rath? Obviously not.

    • The version of religious conflict is really dumb. Emperor Nicholas I tried to ally with Aberdeen; his goal was not to defend Orthodox but to destroy Ottoman Empire (to kill a "person malade"). The British did not want to "save the balance in Europe", their goal and achievement was to put Russia on its knees, to overthrow the policeman of Europe.

  • Russia never forgave Britain and France's assaulting Crimea on behalf of the Ottomans. Russia took a bit of revenge in 1956, when USSR kicked both countries out of Egypt. Still to this day, Russia is aware of possible aggression towards Crimea and took every measure to ensure it doesn't happen.
