This movie had a heck of a lot more wrong with it than the plane. The entire PREMISE of the movie was flawed from the start - whomever decided that it was a good idea should be fired on the spot.
Think about it. Everyone in the WORLD has to be evil and make evil wishes. Then, given that they ARE evil because that is the movie's premise, why TF would they even dream of recalling their wish? But but they are NOT all evil? Ok. Let's run with it. Let's tell the mother who wished to feed her starving kids to recall HER wish... see the serious GLARING FLAW with the premise itself?

Uhmm.. Turbine engines don't have pistons. They have .. turbines :P And plane engines aren't the only ones that can adjust fuel air ratios.. Well. Turbines only adjust fuel ratio. But any modern car with electronic fuel injection does it too :P

I'm sorry I think the movie wasn't that good, but I think its kinda invalid to point out the irregularities of the distances, again its a movie, its not in our world, though the places are heavily inspired from our earth, but its a movie, they're even saying DC will now tackle multiverse approach. Its not in our world, its a world where a billionaire guy can do impossible things from our current year, speedster, alien and woman made out of clay.

You forget, she made the jet invisible, now this would have been done by bending light around it. This of course would also mean air would bend around it and reduce drag to magical lows, thus drastically increasing fuel efficiency :)
