Mexico won the war to France. Why? Because France did not withdraw because the Prussians were coming. The Franco-Prussian war occurred in 1870 while the French were expelled from Mexico in 1867 lol. The United States likes to affirm that the Mexicans won thanks to the arms support that they gave to Mexico, which they certainly did not send because you were in a civil war. The Mexicans had their own armory called "the citadel", they manufactured their own cannons and mosquets. This is a huge list of mexican all battles won. Which confirmed the definitive victory to Mexico. Battle of de Santa Isabel del 1 de Marzo de 1866 2,000 vs 2,000 5 de Mayo victoria de México. year1862 6 mil franceses vs mil mexicanos. 2 de Abril donde México derrota a Francia para siempre. @E R I know much. I always admit when i dont know something. Can you cite you're declaration?
Ask yourself this. What was Sothern American reaction to French n English intervention.
Please tell me, how do you rationalize the motivation for the British leaving? Do you really believe it is because the French had expanionistic designs? Really?
Peter Griffin
so the French started another Peninsula war.
me: france how many time do you want to surrender? france : yes!
At this time France was the biggest and best army.... to understand this think about life this.. imagine Iraq beating the us
I share a Birthday with Napoleon III.
So Mexico didn't really deafeat France. They had to withdraw not to get the Americans angry, but still kicked Mexico's ass. I'm not French btw.
USA needs Mexico , probably more than Mexico knows
Es la relación más tóxica de Norte America.
1:32 This kinda sounds familiar

The Armchair Historian: How France lost...
1:03 You'll see in the mexican scholar system the Pastry War is in reality called "The 1st French Intervention".
Me as a german:😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
Nothing to do with armchairs, but how (as in how many ships and at what costs) did it take in the 1860s to move 26, 000 troops and supplies across the Atlantic?
I know your a proud American and all but if america was the reason why Mexico won, then why were they too scared to declare war on france?! They did a proxy war instead just incase Mexico loses the Americans won't have a direct war with France. Hints the reason why France had the strongest military in the world at the time. If not for the franco-prussian war France would have taken all of Mexico and probably would keep expanding down south to Central and South America and take some land from the Americans or who knows ALL OF IT! But that was just a what if. But what is not a what if is that America was afraid to go to war with a much more powerful enemy France.
Very interesting thanks
Germany: GREECE PAY DEBTS GREECE: Nah maybe later France: MEXICO PAYS DEBTS Mexico: COME GET YOUR JESUS
1:32 Conservatives who would be unhappy with the result and protest against it... Unrealistic.
**Headline News 1861** France defies the Monroe Doctrine as the US cannot get their house in order!
Fck France!!!

En honor al G(H)eneral Ignacio Zargoza, salvador de Pueblo y luego de México, viva mexico pero viva mexico libre
Very offten people says Maximilian was a very good person but you want to know who really was ? Zaragoza used to help soldier who didn't know how to write to get in touch whith their relatives also he used to sew and mend the coats of its officers, since the country was so poor and in such a bad state of organization after so many wars in a row that it was difficult to be well dressed and Zaragoza knew how to sew and when he saw them very badly he would tell them, leave me here your coat I fix it, he was noble even to die, the reason for his death was that he caught some disease, it could have been smallpox or measles when he visited and helped care for the wounded after the battle of Puebla, he died a few days later , it is thought that he contracted it from French soldiers.
Very offten people says Maximilian was a very good person and a really modern thinker, but he and Juarez has a very , very similar way of think ....... So why in the name of God Mexico wanted that change a indigenous blooded president for a foreignous ??? We already got that way to govern, that Truth is the white racist rich landowners didn't like Juarez. This was just an act of racism. But Juarez won.
Yes give me your history I love learning world history 😖.
Yes yes world history hahahahaha 🤭😖😂🤣💀💩👻.
Victoria 2 music huh
OH MY GOD!!!! COME ON there is so much you could have added. For example, have you ever wondered why there is a statue of Benito Juarez is in Chicago, Illinois AMERICA (1). Or why there is a bust of Abraham Lincoln in CD. Juarez MEXICO (2), AND in Tijuana, MEXICO (3). Abraham Lincoln was terrified that France was going to open up the cotton trade for the confederates from Mexico because it would then supply a new source of revenue that would have made it possible to defeat the Unionist army, OR AT LEAST SUED FOR PEACE. Lincoln's military attaché met Juarez in South El Paso (now called Cuidad Juarez, Mexico for obvious reasons) and provided military armaments to defeat the French. For all intents and purposes Cinco de Mayo is an American Holiday because without both leaders, we would be speaking Creole instead of English AND Spanish. THIS IS JUST LAZY WRITTING!!!!!! 1 .pixels.com/featured/benito-juarez-statue-chicago-allen-beatty.html 2. www.lincolncollection.org/collection/object-date/item/?date=12865&item=111228&view=text&pagesize=24&page=45 3. www.gpsmycity.com/attractions/abraham-lincoln-statue-49823.html
So the US saved Mexico from a French invasion. Amazing the things they don't teach you in history.
@Bryan 1318 You could have told him what happened but, "learn history". Lose the attitude.
No they were still licking their wounds Mexico was going to win anyway all they did was Send weapons learn history
When American took half of mexico then French wanted to take over Mexico and lost

And yet the French Foreign Legion continue to commemorate the Battle of Camarón, a gritty victory part of a losing campaign.

No need for current political jokes; you are doinga great job telling history.
Armchair Historian I would like to make some corrections in your video.
If france won it would be illegal frenchmen crossing the border today

En caso de que algún poblano vea esto, que chinguen a su madre los pipopes
The French lost their commander and the French gave up
Why the hell don’t you talk about the most famous battle of this war? The battle of Camarón
in conclusion, my country mexico can look a bit weak to say the least, but once you start fighting us, you get to see our rough fighting. viva mexico!

Benito Juárez: Kills Maximilian Historians: you a** he was on your side.
Mexican. Take that france France. Shut up mexco
Tacos are good
Benito was a liberal
It really is an Illusion to say that the turning point of the war was American support. At best the USA provided tepid support and worse yet USA arms dealers profited from Mexico's precarious situation sending outdated an expensive arms. It really is a great disservice to an overall fantastic video to paint US involvement as the turning point. Mexico won because of Mexico period.
French "Conquest of Mexico" ...my ass!!!
*spain, france, and britain steps in mexican soil* Mexicans and mexico: *entonces has elegido la muerte*
