Yo rogan, your weed argument is does so harm and not just to the user but to others and early Colorado and California stats show it. The old legal weed eliminates illegal dealers is silly...the Mexican cartels love legal weed since they can launder their illegal weed into the supply...and that's just the tip of the iceberg

You find out about Dan being blind for months and then gaining his vision back, the struggle of going up against the machine of politically connected individuals. Overall a great listen if you want the real side of Dan.

D Michael HD Michael HGün önce
    • Because that then creates: " BOB IS AN ENEMY OF THE STATE! HE DISAGREES! TAKE HIS VOTER RIGHTS!" A slippery slope if there ever was one. It's like saying we should lock up anyone who is deemed mentally ill at the drop of the hat. A tactic that was previously used to silent people that knew too much, were political opponents or simply were sided against due to bigotry (Ex: Women being institutionalized by husbands they wanted to divorce). Saying you can't vote if you aren't a citizen or are a convicted felon is a fair baseline. How to make voting easier doesn't require changing that or bringing ID's. You simply need to make companies actually let their employees go take time off to vote. The voting process needs to be streamlined more so it is faster to do. In many stations you could be waiting a half hour or two hours. Aside from a terrible public transit structure nationwide those are major reasons why people don't vote.

Hamas being ok but this trans person is not, that was a more fair comparison. I dont think anyone should be banned personally. The point was about the trans person being permabanned for saying there is a difference between men and women. Facts are facts. On that i agree.

Hearing Mr. Crenshaw talk about having troops in the Middle East just takes me back to when Ms. Gabbard was doing the same. Have you considered having some of these people debate their ideas? Your show has such a relaxed atmosphere that I think they'd both be able to really get their two points across, unlike those big debates on TV where they only have a few minutes. What do you think?

  • Yeah he lost me when he said solar power was non-viable because of the amount of batteries it would take?? Because there's no sun at night? Tons of people have their own solar panel power setup with rechargeable battery banks and they are off the electrical grid as a result. He claims to be all for small government but can't wrap his head around a world where the government doesn't provide electricity in mass.

    Branden CBranden C4 gün önce
    • There's a difference between powering a medium sized house and powering a city. First off, where do those folk with said panels live? Cause if you're too far away from the equator, the light hitting your panel does not have enough energy to power a short wave radio. Next, the small panels are easy enough to maintain, but the more power you need, the bigger the panel you need. And those panels are expensive and very difficult to maintain. If you're going to power a city, you need more than just a couple small panels on your ceiling. The amount of power you need for a city demands a turbine. But the biggest issue for solar hasn't got anything to do with batteries or even the amount of sun. It's a question of efficiency. Right now our solar tech is only viable for small scale operations because with houses, the electricity doesn't have to go very far. But the farther you send electricity, the more of it you lose. Solar tech cannot generate enough electricity to over come the resistance it takes to get the power where it needs to be. One day? Maybe. But that day is a long way off.

  • 1:17:42 Dan Crenshaw: "Per capita, places like Switzerland and Israel have far more gun ownership than we do. People don't realize that." Joe Rogan: "Is that true?" Dan Crenshaw: "Aha. Yeah. I wouldn't come in here and lie to you." All it takes is a Gooogle search to find that it's completely inaccurate. From Wikipedia guns per capita by country: US is #1, Switzerland is #19 and Israel is #108 I was really liking this guy but he is saying some really crazy statistics that are completely inaccurate, just to support his narrative. He is a politician after all so I guess nothing out of the ordinary here.

    BadC0BadC05 gün önce
    • I don't know about Israel, but in Switzerland anyone who serves in the Military (they have a obligatory draft!) can take is his weapon and gear home. You even can obtain that weapon after finishing military service. I wonder if that kind of "ownership" was considered in the number which were given. We are talking about combat rifles here, by the way, not hand guns.

      RogerWilco66RogerWilco663 gün önce
    • That's where you're wrong. You looked at guns per capita. NOT gun ownership. The only thing your statistic means is that people in American own more guns individually than people in Switzerland and Israel NOT gun ownership. In Switzerland and Israel they have mandatory service, unless you have a health problem you serve in the military. Also in these countries you get to keep your service rifle leading to, YES, they do have higher gun ownership. They just don't have as many guns. The average person just has their service rifle in those countries whereas Americans most likely have a variety of pistols shotguns etc. Technically tho he is right. If you are looking at pure ownership regardless of amount of guns those countries reign supreme because of their mandatory service

  • I don't think the link to mass shootings is psych meds, but rather the reason you are on them. Except in children or young adults. These drugs and many others seem to effect children in much different, and often the opposite way they should. I personally have depression and anxiety and have taken pretty much every SSRI out there and anxiety meds. It has never made me want to go shoot anybody. Maybe myself, but not others. However you take a 13 year old and pump him full of prozac and you are going to get much different results than you would an adult. Honestly though I think it has more to do with someone having a condition that isn't being managed properly. And of course some people are just screwed up, you can't fix them.

    Paul MohrPaul Mohr6 gün önce
  • I think stating mass shootings started with Columbine is disingenuous, especially when Crenshaw is from Texas, and Charles Whitman killed 17 people and wounded dozens in 1966 at the University of Texas

    Christopher StaffordChristopher Stafford6 gün önce
    • @default 1990 that's entirely possible. I feel like he picked Columbine as it is the most emotionally poignant, but as he states he doesn't make policy based on emotion, mass shootings in the United States go back to at least the 1920's, so picking Columbine is setting an intentional narrative. They used mostly tec-9s, shotguns and handguns, and the debate these days is more aimed at "assault weapons" which may be a b.s. term but I dont think the Columbine shooter's would fall into the same category. But to his point, regardless of weapons used, areas that gather large numbers of people are a security threat I belive the Virgins Tech shooter mostly small caliber handguns

He's all about less government control, more freedoms for the individual, etc. but when it comes to pot, suddenly he thinks the government is in a better position than you are to determine whether you can control yourself on it.
