I have been working for many years now and believe it or not, I have never been on strike, not even one day. Anyway during the war my great grandfather was working in a factory here in my home town. Every evening at the end of the working day, German soldiers were waiting outside the factory to catch as many workers as they could to send them working in Germany. My great grandfather didn't want that as he would have left behind his wife and his daughter. This way he and some other coworkers found another door at the back of the factory that the German soldiers didn't know about. But of course after a while the Germans found out about the deception and my great grandfather was sent to Northern Germany, next to Hamburg, to work there. When he came back after the capitulation of Germany he was so skinny, just like a skeleton. My great grandmother had no news and she thought he was dead.
