  • As darkness laps at our feet, daylight can still be seen, heard , felt. Hope remains, while company is true. While the hordes may trample over the ruins of our achievements, their grand children might understand, and cherish.

  • "A sound does not view itself as thought, as ought, as needing another sound for its elucidation, as etc.; it has not time for any consideration--it is occupied with the performance of its characteristics: before it has died away it must have made perfectly exact its frequency, its loudness, its length, its overtone structure, the precise morphology of these and of itself." - John Cage 1955

  • Dare I say ... this sounds maudlin and corny to my ears. And the video is mawkish and only serves to over-egg what is already an overly rich pudding. Just my opinion of course, so take no insult!

  • How do they keep the tempo without a conductor? Are they taking their lead from the cellist on the far right? Or they just instinctively playing in time?

  • I was walking along the beach yesterday, imagining I was holding the hand of my 3 year old self. Walking towards the sun telling him that its ok. ''You don't need to hide back there in the darkness anymore. Theres no reason to be frightened now. Your with me. I'll look after you now little guy.'' This song just took me right to that place. I cried like I've never cried in my life. Oh the deep, beautiful sadness. I am so grateful to be able to grieve the loss in a healthy way.

  • With every chord, the music alternates between the sunrise and sunset. The rising hope of dawn, promising for better times to come, warm and welcoming... followed by the falling dusk, sadness as the sun falls beneath the horizon and the daylight fades again. Every time I listen to this, each chord fills me with hope, then loss, then hope, then loss... it is the nature of daylight and the nature of life.

    • @Samuel Trémerie ありがとう❗ Arigatou ! ( Japanese thanks words ) Thank-you very much to your wonderful and excellent and report in detail . We all Japanese know the yellow jackets on TV . I think that Your President is good . Soon your President will come to Japan and meet our Japanese new Emperor and take a lunch . Really Our loving France is far . Japan is Far East of Asia . We Japanese ( especially , me) deeply love Debussy,s works . Now I read 「Le Miserable 」 Of course , it's Japanese translated book . The other day I have read Balzac and Proust . Deep emotion grew into my soul . Take care of each other Good luck !

    • @Shin-i-chi Kozima Merci (thanks in French) France sincerely love Japan and his culture too. I know it's a country with a lot of traditions, that your people is very honorable and have a very deep connection with Nature (at last, you've keep it). I don't think that France is in a good situation. Of course, we are not a poor country and there is no war. But I feel that most of the people are lost, they didn't have a link with Nature and with their past anymore. I think it's very important because you can't go anywhere if you don't know where you come from. I'm very glad that an official meeting is prepared between our two countries. However, most of the people don't like our president. (I don't know if you are aware about the Yellow Jackets.) They consider him as an impostor because he don't really take care about the people. Some people (like me) agree with the return of a king to the power. Furthermore, Louis XIV was called the Sun-King. Maybe that makes him a cousin from the imperial japanese family who descend from Amaterasu. I hope you will come one day in France. It's very diverse with a lot of different environnments. You can even go to France without going in Europe. French Polynesia and New Caledonia are really close to Japan. They are beautiful islands, people always smile (like Japan). Adieu (French good bye word that mean that I ask God to protect you).

    • @Samuel Trémerie ありがとう❗ Arigatou ! ( Japanese thanks words ) Thank-you very much to your reply ! How is France where we Japanese deeply love and respect . How do you think and know about Japan ? Soon Your French President will come to Japan and will meet our Japanese new Emperor and take a lunch with Japanese new Emperor . Tokyo entered the our complained rainy season . When the our complained rainy season over , overwhelming hell,s summer comes . There is an undeniable summer coming , with all things glowing and without shadows . Autumn ! Autumn ! the kingdom ! Summer in Tokyo is hot and very wet hell for those who work and walk outside . But Japanese spring and autumn are wonderful , incomparable and comfortable season that are beyond all imagination . Someday please come to Japan in the height of spring or autumn . Take care of each other ! Good luck ! Good bye ! さようなら‼️ Sayonara ( Japanese good bye words )
