I started researching this goddamn video in june of 2019. I was so young. So innocent. This video is a precious relic of The Before Times, and unlike those inconsiderate vikings, I went out of my way to take *actual notes!*
Our content is intended for teenage audiences and up.

  • Fun fact regarding spiders that I thought of while Lokis naming was up: Im danish, and my grandparents and older generations, when we came across a micro spider, would mention that according to superstitions, it was a sign of luck or happiness if you let it go on its way! Happiness in danish is lykke, and sounds similar to løkke, a word for knot or noose. And sometimes nordic languages overlap in certain wordspellings or pronunciations, though I only speak my mother tongue. Do with this knowledge what you will, I just wanted to share fun coincidences.

  • I like Norse mythology a lot more than Greek because it's basically just one long barfight fueled by bad decisions and that's very entertaining to observe.

  • I don’t know if anyone has said it but “lokkenet” could also come from the word “lokke” which means “to lure”. And Loki is (to my knowledge) called “loke” with a single k in Swedish. It is a big difference in Nordic languages. I don’t speak Faroese or Swedish, but I do speak danish. And Swedish and Danish are like estranged siblings: different in key ways, but also very very similar. So the word “lokkenet” could mean “Loki’s net” or “net that lures in”, but without concrete evidence from a scholar or native speaker I wouldn’t draw any major conclusions from the translation.

  • Rewatching this and on 21:07 I'm literally wheezing bcs I'm reminded of Loki's modifier in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (a great novel for history and mythology geeks, yall) which is "one who likes to change gender" and the fact that he turned the deutagonist of that novel into a woman for fun 🤣

  • Look up "Howl's moving castle" a movie by Studio Ghibli. The Demon at the hearth of the titular castle, Calsifer, is I think, Loki himself.

  • I think it's pretty obvious Loki is the god of fun. Stories are not only told for wisdom and sacrifices to the gods surely was a rarity compared to telling stories of them. Loki just does weird shit for no reason and enjoys it. Thats fun on a childs level. It seems to be simple to connect the storytelling about a pantheon of gods to one story being about the god who does whatever the fuck for whatever reason. And i dont know all the stories or whatever. But it makes sense that one god that would be for the children, and also the child in all adults, would exist in such a culture. Finally fun is for every day and why sacrifice for it when it comes for free?

  • I think an aspect of Loki is that he is the only one who knows the whole truth of what he did or didn't do, and knowing how things really were were a major part of how he solved his problems. I think he is a shape changer solely because you need to follow clues to root out the Truth. He may well be the roshack or Sherlock of norse mythology.

  • Now I want an anime about Loki similar to Talentless Nana, where after seeing how evil the Aesir are, he starts killing them one by one in really convoluted plans, starting with him tricking Hodur into killing Baldr. Being the underdog since everyone is times stronger than him and with everyone suspecting him from day one

  • At 4:56 Loki says "You didn't write down the thing with the goat, right?" This is in reference to the time Loki tied his balls to the beard of a goat for a game of tug of war at a party. Because he was trying to cheer up a woman who was sad because her father had died. Because Loki had burned him to death. But hey it worked!

  • I thought Loki challenged Isaac to a duel to the death, only to get killed by Isaac's weaponized tears, and then Loki had to be stitched together with Hornfel to stay alive, both running into Isaac again, and getting killed, leaving Loki as II Lokis, so he adopted the name Lokii, before getting killed for real this time by Isaac again. TL;DR: Isaac is Thanos.

Also yes Christianity was actually suppose to be different from religion and only relationship with Jesus and the belief of the God. Not anything else Dang it. *Adam and* So yes I’m mad at Christians Cause Now We can’t Do anything thanks to our own People!! Also this is Very interesting and I hope you do a Lucifer video like this.
