Cole The Cornstar, aka Cole, is a 4th generation family farmer from Central Iowa who is the life force behind his family’s 1,700 acre farm. Cole promotes agriculture by filming his day-to-day adventures with his Dad (Daddy Cornstar) and brother (Cooper) on the farm. With a lot of help from Daddy Cornstar, Cole instills humor and education into his videos fit for both young adults and adults. Despite being 22-years old, Cole has an old-fashion work ethic with an innovative approach toward agricultural technology and practices. Cole's mission is to prove the American Dream is not dead and be a megaphone for agricultural education and innovation, from technological advances in farming equipment to conservation practices.

  • I just drove 1000 miles to get to Ames IA. I watched your videos and I saw news clips about the storm damage. While it looked bad, actually seeing it firsthand really brought the full scale of the destruction of buildings and crops home. It was staggering to see it. Take care and good luck.

  • Hello from New Hampshire! We heard about those winds in Iowa. The Fam belt... So sorry to hear about the severe damage from Mother Nature. New Hampshire is 80% woodland. You cannot SEE around too many corners. Our farm cottage is in the woods, surrounded by tall Hemlock🌲🌲🌲 that I pray never become uprooted! Did I see a wind turbine behind your grandpa's house? Did that get damaged? Our main farm sits on top of a ridge. I have tried to encourage my brother-in-law get a small wind turbine to pump water to the cattle. I would really love to have a restored Jacobs! Our farm is still in the 1940s for the most part, but that has in many ways helped us carry on. We live a similar lifestyle of our grandparents in the 1930s & 40s. The Waltons! We keep a fairly low overhead and strive to just break even, with enough hay, food in the freezers and lots of dry firewood. All the roofs, including the 80' dairy/hay barn are new, so that is a plus, having a dry off over everybody's heads🐂.

  • Here is some wisdom of old timers to connect with the wisdom of your observations about the role of broken windows in bringing down buildings... when you look at the original buildings back east you will see shutters. People could close and fasten them from the inside, helpful when on upper floors. It will be very wise to install hinged shutters on either side of windows, at least in your home.

  • The reason why wind damage is almost noexistant in Sweden is cos we have forest everywhere. Idk how that would work in Iowa but u guys need to tell the state that u need trees and the best way is that if u get paid to maintain your own forest. Learn from the world. I hope you guys dont have to deal more losses farming is vital to the world and the govenmet is supposed to take care of you

  • Nothing wrong with being stressed! I can't stand when times are stressful and people expect you to be so calm and then run away when you get mad. If people aren't there for you at your toughest of times, they dont deserve you at your best.
