  • I love my 911 Turbo, but when Japan decides to build a high end sports car, you know it is going to be something special. The early NSX was underrated, and considered a 328 wannabe, but the NSX was one of the finest sports cars ever made. I am sure this one is no exception.

    • The call the Gen 1 a "legend" but in fact it was dog slow compared to the Turbo S of the day! It was a FULL SECOND slower to 60 and much slower in the 1/4. The performance simply wasn't there. Contrast that with this generation that runs 2.7 0-60 per Acura's website for ALL NSX's and there are multiple videos from different sources of 2.8's and a 2.9 with an adult male passenger riding shotgun. The Turbo S, at $40k more ($159k base NSX vs $200k Turbo S) is literally an eye blink's worth of time faster to 60 (0.2 seconds). The NSX has cranked off multiple 10.8's bone stock from different sources without any of the shenanigans that McLaren or the competition use (i.e. running race gas in a barely filled fuel tank while using drag tires that have had a tire warmer run on them and have been deflated to unusable street psi numbers while using VHT compound and swapping out parts or setting up the suspension for the specific track and ambient conditions and icing the intake beforehand). The NSX simply drives to the track, runs, and pulls 10's with a halfway decent driver and then drives home without any shenanigans. There isn't a car being built today that is a full second quicker to 60 than the NSX. Not. One. Single. Car. The NSX is absolutely KILLING the competition, including Porsche, in real life track racing in the IMSA WeatherTech series GTD class with the Meyer Shank NSX! The first one is a legend, but it's performance specs aren't the reason why. This one, starting at $159k kills the similarly priced GT3, Audi R8 RWD, Huracan RWD, and has taken down many "faster" cars both in real life drag races on TRvision and in real life track racing. Gen 2 is ACTUALLY the sleeper legend out of the two and will be worth even more due to the miniscule production numbers! I look forward to seeing the glowing reviews in 15 years of this NSX and laughing my ass off recalling all the hate.....

Acura is killing Porsche in real life track racing in the IMSA WeatherTech series GTD class where it just finished its 2nd back-to-back #1 finish and leads the class, beating all the other supercars such as McLaren, Lambo, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc along the way.....

  • I have now driven both thanks to a friend at Miller Motorsports track in UT. Here's what I can tell you and keep it very simple.... If you want driving perfection, go with the Porsche. If you want to turn heads and work a little more for the fast lap times, go with the NSX. Both are awesome cars, they just achieve their speed in different ways. The Porsche makes you feel like a hero immediately, the NSX is more sensitive to inputs and can be over or under driven depending on your abilities, but it can go just as fast once you learn how to drive it the way it's meant to be driven. It's really all about preference.... either one will make you very happy.

  • In the NSX, at least half your time was spent with your eyes off the road looking for something on the console. In the Porsche most everything was on the wheel so they eyes never left the road. It only takes a split second for an animal or a small child chasing his toys to pop onto the road. We are way too distracted these days, and car manufacturers are the main cause.

Are people you never met gonna chip in on the cost? You will never see 99.9% of those strangers ever again.

I have even fit two carry on suitcases in the trunk just to see if I could. The trunk is narrow and shallow, but VERY long. It extends up and under the quarter panels. You can fit a set of golf clubs, or for us Americans, long guns in hard shell cases in the back without issue. The short and tall trunks of some of the competition might be ideal for paper grocery bags standing straight up, but I find the long trunk much more useful and I use plastic grocery bags so I don't need them standing a foot up in the air.
