  • The end of the seven years war was the high water mark of the British empire. It was a slow downhill roll from there.

  • The Brits briefly occupied Philippines for around 2 years (1762-1764) during the Seven Years' War since Spanish Empire was an ally of France and a Filipino resistance couple namely: Diego & Gabriela Silang seized their chance in leading a rebellion against the Spanish (which would also inspire it later in 1896 onwards) and even almost accepted the deal in helping the British against 'em but it was short-lived when some fellow Filipinos sold 'em to the enemy. Also, the Indian contingent (Sepoy soldiers) of the British East India Company deserted either during or after their occupation and some Filipinos bore their ancestry in some provinces (notably Rizal province) outside of Manila which the former Sepoys setttled there for good.

  • Battle of Plassey narrated by you is not true You see the British had secret negotiations with one of the court members of the Nawab Seraj ud Daula, Mir Jafar, to whom the British promised power when Nawab seraj ud Daula was thrown off from throne. Durin the Battle of Plassey, the British were vastly outnumbered, and was almost on the verge of defeat, when Mir Jafar had told the Nawab to declare a ceasefire, or a momentary break in battle, but while the Nawab's army was resting, Mir Jafar had told the British now is the time to attack, and having caught the Indians, offguard, the British captured Nawab Seraj ud Daula, and won the battle

  • "It would require a great philosopher and historian to explain the causes of the famous Seven Years' War in which Europe was engaged and in which Barry's regiment was now on its way to take part. Let it suffice to say, that England and Prussia were allies and at war against the French, the Swedes, the Russians and the Austrians." Loved the Barry Lyndon music on the background.
