    • Dear Critical Role, do you think it would be possible to get Stephen Colbert as a guest on Critical Role ? It would be actually amazing if he used his bard character, but that is a detail.

    • We watched this at home as a family and all loved it. My sons still talk about this adventure every few days as an example of how a short mission can be enthralling and concise. They want more family friendly exciting short tales. Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • It's so funny. I keep seeing comments about this being peoples' first introduction to Matthew Mercer. About this time two years ago I watched a little video called "D&Diesel." It was something like this, but with Vin Diesel and some other folks. I've been hooked since, and I'm glad this video is bringing that same experience to other people :D

  • Well, we already donated - but stumbling across this vignette has been an absolute, total joy - and poor Eric's sacrifice has moved me to a second donation. I too, discovered D&D in the 1970s, ran many a campaign as DM, and still have my original D&D basic starter box set. Back in 1980 I ran a 48hr D&D campaign for charity at my parent's house (when they were away, naturally), but ran out of planned 'campaign' material about 3/4 of the way through (those damned, efficient adventurers!). I literally had to 'wing it' for the remaining time - thankfully nobody realised... :-) I used to paint all the miniatures too (Citadel or Ral Partha - but only ever the the latter for elves; Tom Meier - we're not worthy) and always donated the character miniatures to whichever friend was playing that character. Here we are almost 40 years later and I am still in touch with many friends who participated in that charity campaign - and every one of them still treasures their character's painted lead mini. Watching this has made me feel like a teenager again. Matt you are an inspirational DM to anyone aspiring to run a campaign. Thank you! :-) P.S. Well - I would have donated had the link still been operational. :-( You'll have to trust me that I shall seek out alternative means to further support the noble cause.

  • If that undead mage had a phylactery, it was a lich. And a lich totally would've seen through Invisibility. However, it's actually the mark of a good DM to find a way to make it happen to consummate the story. Only a newbie DM would say, "Sorry, the party wiped because that's what the dice say." Dice-slaves get out.
