    • [ sorry for rant but none of my friends have finished it and I need to talk about it so bad lol] I'm torn because I enjoyed it, but I agree that Abby's part could have worked better as TLOU3 or a DLC. I rushed through Abby's part because I didn't really care about her. We hadn't built a relationship to the character and I had no connection to her, I basically just wanted to get back to Ellie as fast as possible. I see what they're trying to say, that revenge doesn't solve anything and will just poison you, also that everyone goes through their own issues even though you only see them from one side, but idk I felt like they could have done it in a better way. I think it would be cool if Abby and Ellie were forced to cooperate to survive together and eventually started seeing each other in a different perspective. Otherwise I would have perferred if Ellie either just killed Abby in Seattle or left her for good and stayed with Dina

  • Jack Joel's actions saved ellie the world would have been doomed either way since they were gonna make a vaccine instead of something that would've helped since vaccines attack viruses not fungi which is what the infection in this game is plus the amount of trial and error that would be required would've doomed the world anyway

  • What do you think a cure would have done sean? How many people die from spores, bites and scratches compared to clickers tearing you apart or faction wars? How could fireflies mass produce a cure and get it to everyone? How do you know they could make it for sure? How do you know the fireflies wouldn't have just used it for leverage? Even if all that was possible and everyone was immune there would still be millions of FUCKING ZOMBIES!!!

  • I love how some TRvisionrs take the time to appreciate things. Whether it's a game, an animation, or a film, it always pleases me to see people appreciate all the amazing details and the lighting, and the illumination. It satisfies you even more when you actually look into the detail and how beautiful the game or film can really be. I also love when Jack just kinda disects the game down into parts or says what would/could have been better or nicer. I just think it's really cool how he does it.

  • Ya know....the speech at the end hit me.. I’m trans male and I live with someone who hates it, refuses to accept it, refuses to call me Avery or call me her son... she’s from the older generation(she’s 70) and it...really breaks me inside when she does this, she’ll deny it and say she’s prayed that “I’d change my mind” which...this isn’t something you can change you mind about... so the fact people are hating over a video game character that’s trans.. digs deep... it’s a game, and a damn good one at that

  • “If I ever were to lose you, I’d surely lose myself” is exactly what happens to Ellie. That’s why she can’t kill Abbie, she’s lost everything, even herself at the end and she knows Joel wouldn’t want that for her.

  • No offense to Jack or anything but I think that all the scenes had to be where they were to fit with the game play like at the start scene with Joel and Ellie and the guitar and I liked the abbie stuff isn't it ironic the biggest zombie games both have jj the babie. I loved ellie and I was sad about jessie. This is such a moving game and there is such a big message behind it that people don't look at the ending makes sense if they make a third one the gay thing was big for a main character and they made it so that the older generation didn't like it but it was normal to young people in the zombie world and showed how there is still stuff in normal life u have to go through in there life. Joel's death was needed and I think in that scene when he is dying I feel like when she told him to get up and he opened his eyes it was like he was saying it's time for me to go face what I did and be with my daughter but I still love u ellie so that was emotional.abbie was great and I think that she just loved her dad like ellie loved Joel so I can understand her. I also liked the end because ellie didn't kill her which told us there's still ellie from the last of us 1 in there the young girl trying to find herself and wanting her life to mean something. Ellie lost everything and so did abbie so that was what the ending was trying to show and when Jack said he didn't like the home scene about Ellie settling down I think that was needed to show what life she could have had and kept but lost because she was so polluted. I liked the music it was all the right music at the right times I liked the setelment because it showed they didn't need the cure to keep going that they could continue without Ellie's cure. I think this game was amazing and all the game was right it all ment something and I hate when people say it's 2020 it doesn't matter u should just have human desecy. Have a great life if ur reading probs not but live life being someone u I love because if ur he always trying to please someone else then it would be impossible but if u live life your happy then your happy

  • "They could've easily done the same thing again" What on earth kinda logic is that? Are you saying that there was no way for Joel and Ellie to be together again for a sequel or evolve as characters for the sequel? If you're a writer for the sequel to the Last of Us, you have a thousand or even a million ways to progress the characters without killing them off in such bullshit, contrived, and insulting ways like this. That's a stark lack of creativity and vision. What about all the other video game sequels that have all the same characters that either stick around or get developed further as characters? Uncharted? Mario? Max Payne? Crash Bandicoot? Spyro? Mass Effect? God of War? Halo? Metroid Prime? Batman Arkham?

    • Most of the games you named are BRANDS, not stories. They have to survive in order for the production company to survive while making smaller story based games like this.

      JadzebraJadzebra6 saatler önce
    • You seem to be largely missing the point of the narrative. The deaths only seem pointless if you're not seeing the point. The entire game is a story in and of it's own, a continuation of but separate game than the first one.

  • My opinion (keep moving Abby fans): I get what they were going for with Abby’s long section, try and build sympathy for a character that they saw as only a murderer, but that won’t change that she doesn’t seem affected by the amount of people she’s killed. Yes, her father was killed, but walking into a room full of people and killing them and not showing her ever regret it will never change my opinion on her. Ellie was affected the people she killed (most visible when she is forced to kill Mel) but Abby doesn’t. She stays the same no matter how many people die at her hand. You can’t force sympathy on a character that just keeps putting bullets in people and just keeps walking without any change, that isn’t going to happen. Yes, she’s hell bent on revenge, but so is Ellie. Yes, she’s basically trained her whole life to kill, but that can only create so much sympathy. Idk, maybe I missed some shit, but that’s my opinion on what I saw. Still love this game

  • After seeing all this journey, I really got to make a comment about all of this, I'm not gonna lie, this game is far from perfect, don't get me wrong, the gameplay is amazing, graphics are astonishing, the attention to graphic detail was absolutely great, but when we take a look at the story, I really got my complains, I understood the message that they were trying to pass, that "not everything is black and white, no one is just bad or just good" also, a message about revenge, and how "an eye for an eye, will make everyone blind", and all that, but the execution, it was just poor, first of all, the part where we have to play as Abby for straight up 10 HOURS, felt really forced upon us, and I can see why many people hated it, and just wanted to get back to playing as Ellie, cause that's how I felt, the part where we play as Abby, would've been just great, if it were as a free separated DLC or something like that, it would've been amazing to see her side of the story, if it didn't felt so forced down out throat, and, if it wasn't right at the end of the story, second of all, I get that they were trying to make us empathize with Abby, and understand her reasons, and bond with her friend and all that, but that too, felt like it was just pushed down our throat, like, we already killed them, and them they are trying to make us feel bad about it after that, if they made us bond with Abby and her friends, before we actually killed them, it would've been a lot better, cause, instead of trying to make us feel regret, it would make us feel bad as we're doing it, which would've been better for the narrative, anyways, sorry if i repeated myself too much, and sorry for the long comment 6/10 game, I kinda liked it, but the execution at the end wasn't the best it could have been

  • The reason why you feel cringe about all the killing and stuff ellie does is because ellie is acting like someone that shes not, and we, as the players, can feel that, and ellie does as well but she cant stop because there is nothing else she feels she can do to achieve what she wants, and with time this behaviour starts to consums her until ellie isnt ellie anymore, only in the end she was able to gain the last piece of humanity she had left, by leaving this attachtments, she was able to be free and pursue a new meaning in her life

I enjoy happy endings like the next person but it's nice to see the bad ends too, it is horrible when people go beyond just having an opinion by taking anger out on creators choice. We need to have a sense of new when it comes to creating and allow everyone to express whatever it is they want to. thanks for Shawn for joy you you give to me and everyone!

Not to repeat all of Jack, spot on, but that ending did fall a little flat compared to the last one. So open. If they don't take as long for 3 or do something, I'm ok but I get it, Ellie lost everything and I expected as much so...what? Honestly, she should have died or even ending with her sitting in the water could have left that thought a bit more but her going off n an adventure again? Not the same.

  • I just finished the game today. I agree with all the praise it got and mostly agree with the comments I read on this video. The 'Two sides to every story' thing is well played, I was still weirdly disappointed with the ending. Both characters, Abby and Ellie, go above and beyond for reasons of Vengeance and Revengeance, feeding a devils' circle that, in my opinion, could only have ended in Ellie killing Abby. Ellie has pushed herself too far to avenge Joel, killed too many people, done too many terrible things, to have a change of heart in the final moment. It just doesn't make sense to me. Abby had Lev to keep her from killing both Ellie and Dina. She let Ellie live after killing Joel, since her Vendetta was done with. Abby mentioned 'lightening the load' to Yara, I believe, implying that she knows she does terrible things, things that one can not defend, but tries to even it out sometimes with doing good things. Abby did not 'have the balls', so to say, to actually go through with closing the circle of hatred and vengeance. Ellie did though. For the longest time. And yet...She leaves a happy life, with a family, to go figure out her PTSD by killing an obsession. And bails at the last possible moment. It seems a bit trope-y for me. Like a change-of-heart-moment for any Supervillain. And it does not fit here. It would not have been bad if Naughty Dog decided to tell the story of a beloved character becoming a villian, I think. I loed Ellie in the 1st game. I would have been shocked if she had turned out like Isaac. But it would have made more sense for her to kill Abby, to become truly lost to violence and vengeance, than her having a change of heart. Joels' song goes 'If I ever were to loose you, I'd sure loose myself'. And in a way Ellie did! And it would have made way more sense for her to actually loose herself to this violent side of herself.

  • I understand what you're saying at 2:08:00 about how it should've ended at the theater, but I think some time needed to pass before Ellie could've made the decision to not kill Abby, to realize that she isn't doing Joel any justice by killing everyone and that that isn't what Joel would've wanted for her. Because if they had that intense fight at the theater, there is no way Ellie would've spared Abby, she was still so angry and didn't even agree on going home when Jesse and Tommy were talking about it right before Abby busted through the door. So I think that's why they put that in there.

  • Tbh the WAY abby killed joel was just so weird, i cant get over the brutality.. there is no mercy, even though he saved her life just a few moment ago! He killed her father quick and it makes me think if there is a difference on how you kill someone? Because either way you end a life and there is nothing more inhumane than that.. there is just no way to kill someone in a humane way. But still... the WAY he died was just so unforgivable.. somehow in my mind, i can understand to choose my own than any other human. So it is Understandable to seek revenge (even though i dont agree on revenge since an eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind and all).. but that WAY he dies.. man, cant get over that.. still, even after finishing the game and understanding where abby is coming from..

    • *but then again, i remember playing the first game and trying to spare the doctor, but the game forces you to.. that guy was unarmed practically speaking and joel didn’t have to end his life or the lives of the other people in that operating room.. but „at least“ they died a quick death. Both games make you go should’ve could’ve would’ve SO MUCH! Just imagine how different the outcome of the games would be if the player could decide wether or not to spare someone’s life!
