  • 19:48 The unisolated terminals of the high voltage cable going into the power electronics controller scare the shit out of me. Whats the voltage of this battery?

  • For those in the comment section blasting him on his welding? You got to start somewhere, don't know if he should have started on a car though. But at least he starting somewhere. Besides welding classes are expensive. Did a little arch welding in auto shop and it's difficult, especially with a welders mask on. I don't understand how you see anything.

  • I am dying, The duct tape holding up the bell housing. I am sure your done with this project but what do you think about placing the batteries lower on the frame? Manual rack and pinion to remove the steering gear box. Love the idea and the build series.

  • I recommend practicing on pieces of scrap metal instead of your car. :D

    THCdiscipleTHCdisciple2 aylar önce
  • Just a short question: if you have no clutch and can connect the motor straight to the transmission: why do you need the bell housing? A smaller motor support would also work and save a few pounds.

  • If you use a tripod, you get steady footage, can pan more steadily. More people would watch. Otherwise people like me, who get motion sickness, can’t watch. Although we’d really like to.

  • "The secondary elephant in the room." Lol, Rich has multiple elephants. There's a whole herd in the comment section. I'm binge watching this whole series. Keep going!

  • Fucking hell this is bad. Worried about weight and welds a massive plate to hold the battery. Could have just put 2 crossmembers in instead. Not gonna make another mount for the gearbox I'm sure too

  • Way too thick of metal used for the battery support! You could have used thinner metal and just made two thin straps to hold on the battery pack. Time to start planning things out a little more. You've been doing this too long to keep hacking things up - so use some of those skills to plan out the build first before executing. It's time to step up your game and put down the butter knife.

  • If you can get a Argon Gas conversion for your welder, I think that would help your welds. How heavy are the batteries and things that are getting mounted on that plate? My thought is you might like to have the weight a bit lower in the car for handling.

  • Love your content... Can I suggest you dont use tabs on the battery box... instead use 2 metal straps. This will distribute the load better. Its common on larger fuel cells that are only bolted with the tabs to rip off under braking or cornering. I could only imagine what would happen with the weight of that battery box.

  • Can watching a welding arc on a screen damage your eyes? I've always wondered this.

    Jonathan GriffinJonathan Griffin5 aylar önce
    • I don't think it can; I don't think that the maximum brightness on TRvision is enough to hurt your eyes, and the scenes of the welding arc in this video are pretty short as well. The welding arc is probably way brighter in real life.

  • Rich , in 2025 EV sales will skyrocket and very little mechanics can service them , your knowledge will be gold for about 7 years . You need to start a consultation Business exploiting what you know about these cars . you could teach Mechanics shops how to run this rat race ... Dont waste this opportunity .

  • With all the welding vids out there... DID YOU WATCH ANY.... My dad's an engineer and he could barely watch... Tack weld the corners and check for allignment and make sure that any servicable areas are not blocked... Then weld the crap out of it slowly for a good solid clean weld.
