Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

    • @Ronald Piper That question has a pile of variables . Size of shear, angle, depth (most!), soil, soil conditions?... I used to plough about 8 inches deep with a 14×8. Soft peaty soil and quite moist. 300 hp. So extrapolating from that...

  • You need to teach Ayla the Side Eyeing Chloe. She'd be a natural and she could use it a lot when she rides in the tractor with you.

  • hello Next time you need to lift a 55 gal. drum. Set the forks close to the width of the barrel, just slightly smaller. Thole rings on the barrel are not only for strength but they also allow you to use them to pick up the barrel. Just go slow and use the upper ring.

  • Zach, I was watching one of your videos from a year back where you were showing field tiling in operation. Any chance of a revisit to that field to show how well it has worked or not as the case may be? Cheers Derek from the UK

  • Why not just empty the barrel while it was still in the truck so you didn't have to remove the door from the skid steer?

  • Just think. Another 500 likes on this video and you’ll be able to afford gravel for your driveway. With a sponsorship deal, maybe even concrete! But you should get some large cast in place pavers with spacing in between. Will support trucks and allow water to drain through instead of running off. You pour concrete and you’ll need 100k worth of base and drainage.

  • Stopping to fix the flag is one of an infinite amount of reasons why I love your channel. My earliest years were spent on a farm, I was in my first tractor at about 2 years old (It was a Deere, don't worry). Watching your videos reminds me of my childhood, and that's an irreplaceable gift. Thanks, brother! God bless.

  • Careful with the AD Blue (DEF) fluid. It eats paint so you might end up with rust problems.

  • Zach, just noticed all those motors and pullies of the grain bins are not covered. Could this be a safety concern? You know kids get into everything. I'd hate for them to be playing and turn them on and lose some fingers or worse.

  • When I was out west, they ran duolift fuel trailers. We had totes on the dropdecks, and gravity feeding was always to slow. They put a y in the line running from the tank to the pump, and we’d hook up extra hose with the female fitting for the tote and tap into the Y and run the fill hose into the def tank. A reversible pump would have been nice, lol. That was 6 years ago too.
