  • For those asking why Liza looks so tiny compared to me...its simple science. Liza is five foot and tiny. I'm 6 foot and like Firehouse Subs and Panera Bread too much. Also here are your timecodes: Ed Buck: :57 - Quickies: 3:53 - TIA: 6:42 - Israel: 8:36

  • I go back and re-watch older shows all the time. I'm currently watching Cheers (1980s) and Northern Exposure (1990s), both of which are excellent shows. There are several reasons I do this. Part of it is just nostalgia, of course, and because they are just really good shows. But I also watch them partly to remind myself of how different our culture was in other times. It keeps me from being too affected by present-bias, and helps me take our current self-righteousness with a grain of salt, and remember that many different cultures have worked fairly well. And that the people who lived in and supported those cultures weren't actually just a bunch of evil racist power-mad patriarchs, but rather real, decent, and mostly happy and responsible people who were just trying to live good and abundant lives in the best way they knew how. I think it's important to remember this, to keep a little balance in our insanely out-of-all-balance cultural brew of chaos. My two cents, anyway...

  • I;ve re-watched glee probably 4 times now... for me it's just ... I love the casting, the characters, the story-lines that all get presented so well in the series it's just a fun time for me. I will go watch a series if I REALLY like the concept like... Lucifer, walking dead, supernatural... but I don't find myself going to series where I am mildly interested in a concept and giving them too much of a chance... feels like I'm grabbing at oxygen trying to pull myself up... I don't think effort should have to be applied to like a series... I think something should just draw me in naturally

  • Aside from the nostalgia factor part of why people go back to old shows I think, is because of the number of episodes per season. Old shows had like 20+ episodes per season where as now you're getting like 10. So rewatching something you love and takes up more time is better than starting a new show bingeing 10 episodes in a day or two and having to wait a year for more. Cause then when the next season rolls around you'll have forgotten a lot of the last season and lose excitement for the show.

  • For your why do people rewatch classic shows like Friends and The office as opposed to new content it's really the predictability as well as the sentimental value that comes with it. If I've had just and awful day I don't need to go watch something I may or may not find funny I can go watch Phoebe sing smelly cat and Monica clean obsessively. They just won't ever get old, whereas with new TV yes it's great and funny but it will never be a cult classic like Friends, the Office, or now the big bang theory.

  • My opinion on "old shows" is that if you love it, you will watch it over and over. My family and I do this with multiple shows. I have watched Star Trek Voyager about 15 times through, and multiple episodes over and over since I first started watching in 2002. We as a family love to watch Frasier and Friends over and over. I just don't want to have 20 streaming services in my wallet. I only have Netflix and Hulu currently. I am tempted to get Crunchyroll next.

  • I reward TV shows and movies every day. The psychology behind it is based around anxiety. If you enjoy a show and you know the ending it can calm you and entertain you. People suffering from serious anxiety issues can benefit from reaching bingable programs and naturally lean towards these viewing habits unintentionally

  • I rewatch old stuff rather than new content when I'm feeling down and depressed, because it makes me feel less alone, as I already know and often feel close with the characters, and I don't have to bring any energy or close attention to the show in order to be entertained or distracted. New content with a bothered mind that can't or doesn't even want to pay attention is a very upsetting experience.

  • I love binge watching the same few shows because they’re my favorite, but I am getting so annoyed with all of the back and forth. I shouldn’t have to have three different subscriptions just to watch one show on each. Definitely just pushes piracy as an option.

  • Why rewatch good shows? I am usually doing things around the house or gaming/being productive on my computer when I rewatch old sitcoms.

  • Big reason I binge watch old shows is because it’s easy. Sometimes I just don’t have the time or energy to invest myself in something new. I rewatch Scrubs a lot and it’s because I know what’s going to happen and I don’t have to put much thought into it. I can just enjoy it. That and it can take a month to binge it so now I don’t have to try to find something new for awhile. Obviously I still watch new shows but if it’s between seasons then it’s a good way to have a back up.

  • I absolutely think that streaming online is going back to cable-like times. The whole reason Netflix was so fantastic (or some of the earlier sites, like Hulu) was it was a place you could get all your shows in one place. And I have been so stubborn about not wanting to pay for more and more sites, because _it feels like I am being cheated out of what I feel I have already paid for:_ access to all my favorite shows in one place. I think what makes me most upset is watching more and more shows and movies leave Netflix (for example). Like, since Numb3rs was available on Netflix a few years ago, and I paid my Netflix subscription then it feels like I should still, as long as I continue paying my subscription fee, have access to that show. As if Numb3rs was a disc in a case on my physical book shelf and not just a digital copy floating around online. But no, even though I paid to have access to that show, these companies are able to just buy and sell the rights to shows and move them around streaming services seemingly willy nilly. I don't want to pay for another streaming service to watch Numb3rs when I have already paid to watch it on the first website. Yeah? That being said, I love the amount of content that is available legally online through streaming nowadays. I haven't paid for cable in years. But it _absolutely_ feels wrong and backwards that you can no longer find the majority of shows and movies in one place and instead have to wrangle so many different "channels." I don't want to go back to pirating shows, but it really infuriates me when I have to pay for another service to watch shows and movies that I have already paid for on a different platform. At this point I feel like I have paid for the shows enough that I don't mind pirating them anymore.

  • RE: the TV shows and streaming on new platforms - I equate the idea of going back to watching old shows like Seinfeld (which I could watch a dozen times over) to going to a restaurant and always getting the same entree. I know what I am getting and the end result of satisfaction, and in the case of television the humor and life fulfillment that I want, is what I was looking for.

  • i want to correct some things about the israeli elections. so first of all right wing and left wing in israel dont mean the same as they mean in other countries and in the last decade or more those words mean absolutely nothing. lieberman's party isnt ultra nationalistic, is a party of nothing ppl who left out their voter base, which are secular israelis , long time ago. their only stance is to have sits in knesset. the only party that actually cater to their voters is the orthodox party thus the orthodox have a lot of power here like monopoly on kashrut stamps in stores, and so on. accept them there is NO party (maybe indivuduals inside the partys) that really care about the ppl and the many problems we have as a young state that 71 years old. while i think that having big number of parties is much better than the american system of only two, for as long as i can remember, u never choose the good party just the one that sucks the least of them all.cuz they are all shit but in different levels. i will also say that Ganz party is more of a 'no bibi party' than anything else. not that you are not smart enough but u wont understand israeli politics even ig u try, cuz it is crazy even for me and i born here. there is no sense. this is why that part is misleading. also your sources are highly biased. whilr most of israeli media leans left in quite a obvious way , haarez is leaning to the alt left. so the vast majority of us dont take them seriously. they have tho a very active english outlet so this is why u will see their articles before anyone elses from here. i guess that u didnt knw that cuz you should have really sit down and read for days while u prob wanted just to have an interesting thing (which it is cuz few days past and we still dont have a goverment).so now u know. now about the saying about the arabs, the prominent figures from the arab party are very open about being pro terrorists and for the destraction of the country.some of them even have a photo of a terrorist in their house. u might think why they are alowed to run for a sit if this true? well this is one of the crazy things that make no sense but maybe cuz our high court is biased. the high court have (justice branch of goverment?) have more power than the other two branches. there was an infamous court ruling that let a terrorist(!) lighter prison time cuz when he stubbed a woman, after few stabbings the knife stuck in her back, he couldnt pull the knife out so he ran away before he got cought. the court said that the fact he didnt continue to stab her showes that he didnt intend to murder her( i know. this is what we dealing with) . so bibi didnt mean arabs in general but those figures. could he phrase it better? yes .did he wanted to? prob no.thre are enough bad things about bibi to care about. the campaigns of all the 'popular' parties just trashed one another and didnt say anything about policies, just that they will make things 'better'.like they always do. we even have a joke about that if we want are problems solved we need to raise these problems right before an election. u see what i mean? i wrote almost an entire page but explained so little. this is what i saied that non israeli wouldnt understand.. just imagine a normal country with all their problems and then top it with terrorism that dates to the british mandate days, fear from missles from hamas(that were fired this month and kinda constantly for the last six month), threats form hizballah, lone fatah terrorists that stab ppl with knifes on the streets and many attempts that are stopped by the police and army.the sad thing that we are used to it. we have bomb shelters almost i nevery house and when the rokets are falling my first question is how close this place to where i live. anyway hope u (or ppl in the comments) will read it and that it was clear enough to understand what i tried to say.

    helphelp21 gün önce
    • oh and about the cameras they should have been put in every city so no one will cheat, cuz last election there were few parties that cheated. also allegations of bribing citizens to vote. just every party said that the other cheated more.

      helphelp21 gün önce
  • I don’t think we have the budget for third elections. I do not want a left wing government (Gantz) but I also do not Bibi to win again, after all he has done in the past year. But I do not think anyone else is good enough to replace him.

I guess I understand that way of watching these older, longer shows? But to watch it all on TV and then also watch it on a streaming site? I don't understand.

  • Reason I re-watch series I've already seen before is because most of the time I catch elements on the second watch through that I missed or didn't understand before. This is especially true with an ongoing series like GOT. For something like BBT or Friends, it's just because after watching the characters for so long I end of kind of missing them so re-watching the series feels like catching up with old friends :)

  • Regarding the "why do you rewatch content" question -- sometimes it might be a mental health thing. Like for me, when I'm either starting toward or actively in a bad headspace, that's not the time I want to commit to a new show or book. Instead it's more beneficial to watch a show I enjoyed during a better time period. It's like visiting your parents at your childhood home and taking a nap and it is just the most refreshing thing. That's just my experience, though.
